Mr Hirsch qualified from the University of Southampton before training in London. He has spent over a decade in five separate specialist centres for endometriosis and advanced key-hole surgery.

Mr Hirsch was awarded an MD doctoral degree from Queen Mary University of London for his research and thesis into diagnostic and treatment strategies for endometriosis. This has led to an extensive research career helping to advance the speciality. He has over 40 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and invited keynote lectures. These have been recognised with national awards from the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE) and NHS Improvement.

Mr Hirsch practices in the NHS at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital as a Consultant gynaecologist and endometriosis specialist surgeon. He runs specialist clinics and theatre lists for advanced laparoscopic procedures, endometriosis, and hysteroscopy.

He is an elected senior council member for the BSGE and chair of the national working party for thoracic endometriosis care. Within the BSGE, Mr Hirsch helps coordinate international webinars and podcast series to promote endometriosis awareness and collaboration amongst experts.
