Surgery
Laparoscopic or keyhole surgery to remove endometriosis (en-doh-mee- tree-oh-sis) or the uterus can be complex and often requires a specialist. The commonest problems that lead women to seeing a gynaecologist include: painful periods; abnormal or irregular bleeding; and pain with intercourse.
Mr Martin Hirsch is a specialist in keyhole surgery. This has benefits over open surgery including: a quicker recovery; less pain; less time in hospital; and a faster return to work.

Menopause
All women will go through the menopause. This certainly doesn’t make it any easier to go through. Many women start experiencing symptoms from their forties that could be helped by a tailored regime of hormonal and non hormonal interventions. Importantly, the use of HRT starting under the age of 60 has been found to be protective against heart disease.
If you want to discuss an individualised approach to menopause care please get in touch.

Bleeding problems
Bleeding problems become more common as a person gets older and they can really affect your quality of life. Common conditions can include fibroids, adenomyosis or endometriosis which are difficult to diagnose or manage. Knowing what is causing these bleeding irregularities and then how best to treat these, often requires a review by a specialist. Mr Hirsch can help discuss diagnosis and treatment of all types of problems.
